dust bunnies

I recently wrote and illustrated a children's picture book titled The Dust Bunnies and the Electric Broom, which chronicles one dust bunny community's first encounter with this unfamiliar machine. Set in an anonymous city apartment, the tale introduces a vivid cast of characters who work together to persevere in the face of a life-threatening foe. The book combines quirky and imaginative illustrations with color photographs to create a fantastical underworld that demands to be considered real. I am currently developing a new blog titled fotolego which will focus on social practices of photography and the articulation of indigenous identity in Peru.

being American

I am currently collecting material that will inform future projects on nationalism in the United States. You may be interested in participating in an anonymous survey about the United States of America. To contribute, you do not need to be an American (although you could be), you do not need to have ever even been to the US (but you might be here now). The only request is that you are honest in your responses. I will post more news about developments in participation at a later date.
